Marc Steinhilber, CEO
Marc Steinhilber, born on April 11, 1985 in Rottweil, is Managing Director and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the BDT Group. In 2012, he completed his bachelor's and master's degree in engineering and business administration at HTWG Konstanz.
After a one-year assignment in California, USA, Marc joined the BDT Group in 2013. Initially, he was assigned as the quality management officer and assistant to the CFO, Dr. Holger Rath. His main tasks included the development of strategic topics, the modernization of the management systems as well as the re-establishment of the Singapore site. In 2015, Mr. Steinhilber moved to the Print Media Handling division. He assumed divisional responsibility for all small to medium-sized media handling solutions. His main tasks included the overall management of the business unit with a focus on strategy, new product development, go-to-market, and targeted business development & sales.
In November 2018, Mr. Steinhilber was appointed Managing Director and CEO of BDT Media Automation. Since then, he has been responsible for the technical, operational, marketing and sales-oriented areas. He manages the BDT Group together with Dr. Rath, who has held the role of CFO since 2013.
Holger Rath, CFO
Dr. Holger Rath, born on September 28, 1967 in Kirchheim unter Teck, is Managing Director and CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of the BDT Group. He graduated in business mathematics from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1993. At Clariant Germany, he worked for three years in accounting and controlling. In 1996, he assumed responsibility for controlling in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy at Egmont Horizont Verlag, a children's book publisher. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as a consultant for Arthur Andersen. During this time, Dr. Rath completed a part-time doctorate in economics at the University of Kaiserslautern. Before joining IBM Germany in 2001, he was founder and co-owner of MoveOn AG in Reutlingen. During his ten-year career at IBM, he held various management positions. Among other things, he was commercial director of a subsidiary in Chemnitz, CFO of Infrastructure Services and Maintenance, and then CFO of IBM's consulting business in Germany. In April 2011, Dr. Rath moved to BDT Media Automation GmbH and became Managing Director for Finance. In October 2013, Dr. Rath was appointed sole managing director of BDT Media Automation GmbH. Since October 2018, he is again responsible for the commercial area and is Managing Director of the Group together with Mr. Marc Steinhilber, who has taken over the function of CEO.
